Welcome to Cornell High School
High School Handbook

Cornell High School aims to assist our International students to develop the knowledge and skills required to function in a new country, culture, language and education system. We are committed to ensuring that our overseas students develop an understanding of their new environment and establish educational practices that will help them successfully continue their education in Australia.

Our goal is to prepare students for the students for the world of the 21st century in an educational environment that is warm, nurturing, stimulating and enjoyable. We aim to provide quality teaching programs, resource materials, teaching and wider experiences that are relevant and specific to the needs of our ESL students and in accordance with the NSW Board of Studies syllabuses. We believe that learning English is the key to unlocking the potential of our students and our goal is to assist them to become independent learners of English and to develop themselves intellectually, vocationally and morally so that they have the opportunity to successfully complete their senior school studies and access tertiary studies in Australia.

Cornell High School Students

Philosophy
We believe our international students need to develop an understanding and appreciation of the different values and attitudes in Australian society and educational philosophies compared to those in their Asian home countries. Therefore, we feel it is important to encourage the students to understand and adopt the Australian style of independent learning, thus easing their path to the very different learning and teaching styles that they will experience in Australian High Schools and tertiary institutions. In this way, we endeavour to empower our students to achieve success in their personal and educational aspirations.

Excellent facilities and highly professional teaching staff ensure that students develop quality academic approaches to learning, relevant computer skills, determined self direction, keen personal ambition, an optimistic spirit and a desire to make a significant contribution to society.

We are currently taking registration for year 10, 11 and 12 students. You can find more detailed information about the Cornell High School in the latest copy of the School handbook.
