English Language requirements

For General English, there is no specific English language requirement as we try to cater to a wide range of abilities.

Other English Language courses such as the English for IELTS and English for Academic Purposes course would require Intermediate English level for entry. Upon commencement of an English language course, students are given a written and oral English language test to ensure that they are placed in a course suitable to their language proficiency.

  Academic requirements

 Business Programs:

Cornell Institute of Business & Technology requires proof of High School completion such as a Year 12 NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent overseas qualification. If you did not complete your High School education in English or major in English at Post-Secondary Level, you will also need to submit documentary proof of an English language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

Direct Entry to Cornell Institute of Business & Technology and a pathway to a number of Australian Universities is available with the attainment of an Upper-Intermediate Level of English at Cornell Institute of Business and Technology or another NEAS approved Australian ELICOS College.

1.Year 12 High School Certificate or equivalent overseas qualification.

2.English language proficiency of IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 530 or equivalent.

Requirement #2 may be waived for students who can provide evidence that they can read, comprehend and discuss complex information in English as well as write complex information in English at or above an Intermediate level of proficiency.

These prerequisite English competencies may have been acquired through work experience, life experience and/or previous education and training.

High School:
