Cornell Institute of Business and Technology provides advice and information to help you make the most of your time in Sydney and in Australia. Our friendly staff are on hand to assist and advise you with any queries or problems you may have. Please see the receptionist for more information.

| Accommodation |
Various types of accommodation are available in Sydney. CIBT can arrange homestay accommodation for you or can help you to find other forms of accommodation.
A placement fee is payable for this service.

| Homestay |
If you are under 18 years of age, it is compulsory for you to stay in a homestay while studying in Australia. Your homestay is arranged by the centre staff.
In the homestay you will have you own bedroom with study facilities and the fee includes breakfast and evening meals from Monday to Friday, and all meals at weekends. |

| Airport Pick-up |
We understand that the first day in a new country can be difficult. With this in mind, we can arrange an airport pick-up to take you to your accommodation.
If you have requested Cornell's Airport Pick-up service, a staff member will be waiting in the arrival hall with the Cornell logo and a board with your name written on it. If you can not find our staff, please see people at the Helpdesk so that our staff can find you.

| Orientation |
Cornell Institute of Business and Technology provides all students with an Orientation to their courses and information presentation on the first day, and this includes placement testing to assess proficiency levels. Our friendly staff will take you through an orientation programme to help you gain an understanding of the Sydney lifestyle.

| Health and Travel Insurance |
Hospital and medical care in Australia can be expensive. If you are applying for a student visa you must present evidence that you have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for yourself and all family members traveling with you. You must maintain OSHC for the duration of your stay in Australia; if not your visa will be cancelled. Students from Norway or Sweden do not need to obtain OSHC if they are covered by acceptable health insurance schemes from their home country.
CIBT offers a comprehensive insurance policy through Medibank Private. This policy covers most doctors¡¯ fees, all public hospital and ambulance charges, and part of the cost of prescription medicines. |
